The tournament will be conducted through the website www.yucata.de.This website has been voted one of the top online board gaming sites on the internet. It's easy to use. For a quick tutorial on Yucata, click the link on the right.
Tournament Information:
The Tournament will be conducted in a similar fashion as the World Baseball Classic. Players will be separated into groups, or pools of 4. Each pool will play each other - giving everyone a minimum of 3 games. At the end of pool play, I'll take the top two records from each pool and create the round robin tournament based on average points scored in pool play. The format for post-pool play will be a single elimination tournament. An example of the bracket can be seen on the pool selection page. The Championship round will be a best 2 of 3 series. |

| Ground Rules: |

This is a 2 player tournament, so please make an effort to communicate with your opponents. If you are going away for a few days, please let them know. If you are persistently holding up games, you will forfeit your match
Because of the nature of the way games are created on Yucata, email communication with your pool will be important. I will list players in pools and their emails so you can contact one another before starting a game.
Only 1 game needs to be created so between you and your opponents, select the person to create the game. I don't want 2 games created and 2 different winners reported.
When sign ups are completed and BPA verified, I will randomly select pools. These pools will be listed here on this website and updated as frequently as possible with game results. |

| Expectations of Game Play in game: |
|
| Stone Age is a game that should play rather quickly. As GM, I would appreciate it if players could make a serious effort to get through 1 round per day. 1 round = all workers on the board, resources rolled for/cards drawn, and worker feeing phase complete. If you can't make an effort to get through your games, the tournament will lag and players will lose interest. Signing up for the tournament means you will make the effort required to keep the tournament moving at a reasonable pace. |

| Reporting Final Scores to GM: |
|
| When you report scores, please email them to me at this email with the subject heading - BPA Stone Age score report. I would appreciate a screen shot of the final board. To create a screen shot, hold shift and hit the print screen button. Open Word or Paint. Click the Edit menu and select paste. Save that file and attach it to the email. If there are disputes, I will ask for the login information for one of the players in dispute and check the messages area for confirmation of a win or loss and the score. |

| Sportsmanship is something I take very seriously. We all play to win, but we should all strive to succeed while playing fairly and treating one another with mutual respect.
From the WBC Primer: Despite our themed background of championships, laurels and wood, WBC is about having fun. No game is worth winning, if in the process you antagonize your opponent(s) and cannot walk away from the table with the respect of those you've just played. PLEASE, if ever you find yourself about to chastise someone for "blowing the game" or playing poorly, I urge you to reconsider. Taking a loss out on an opponent with a verbal tongue lashing will not change the outcome, but it will brand you a "jerk". Dealing with sub par play in multi-player games is part of the landscape you've chosen to cultivate. It comes with the territory. Live with it - don't ruin someone's day. Above all, WBC admires sportsmanship. Be someone we want to welcome back - not someone we hope will stay away. |
